Dispatcher
Primary Purpose:
The Dispatch Manager is responsible for the day to day operations along with management of movers and drivers. Provides consistent support and leadership to the team.
Responsible for:
- Creating the daily coverage schedule based on the availability of team members
- Keeping morale and engagement high
- Providing outstanding customer service
- Setting a positive example for the rest of the team
Duties:
- Ensure all booked moves are staffed with enough drivers and movers for the following day.
- Line up crews by 8am each day through text and phone.
- Ensure employee call list is utilized correctly.
- Schedule employees according to the order of name placement on the call list.
- Confirm staff arrives in full work attire and crew leaders have tools available for assigned jobs.
- Communicate and schedule crew leaders / movers according to requests.
- Acquire supplemental equipment rentals as needed and keep track to control costs.
- Ensure crew completes assigned jobs correctly when they arrive back to the shop.
- Verify payment, material used / not used, and return of fuel card, equipment and dock tablet (check condition).
- Ensure truck inspection and truck equipment check is completed on each truck daily upon arrival.
- Document and remove any extra equipment or packing supplies on/off the truck.
- Ensure crew completes assigned jobs correctly when they arrive back to the shop.
